Summer months are usually a challenging time for nonprofit fundraising. The number of animals in our care remains
the same during the summer; however, this time is typically seen as an “off season”. This July, we launched our first Hello Summer Pet Photo Contest to help us fill the gap this summer. We were excited about the contest and prizes, yet we weren’t sure how
many people would participate. Our supporters jumped at the opportunity to showcase their beautiful pet, resulting in 183 entries and raising $27,103! Thank you to those who participated and helped to make this first year a HUGE success! We hope you can join
us on September 10 at Alamo Beer Company as we congratulate our winning pet, Prescott, and reveal his winning beer can label!
The animals in our community need us year-round, and summer is no exception. We continue to be boots on the ground, seven days a week, working hard to save as many animals as we can. We have hundreds of beautiful cats, dogs, kittens,
and puppies in our care that need a loving family. Please help continue to spread the word about our available animals. Thank you for your continued support for our animals and lifesaving work. Most often, we are their last chance.

and SAPA! Building One Rescue Center. ALL adoptions will be sponsored by JDog Junk Removal & Hauling in honor of National Dog Day.

Foster of the Month - Andrea Pena

Congratulations to our amazing foster, Andrea Pena, for being nominated by San Antonio Pets Alive!'s foster
team as our August foster of the month!
Andrea has been a SAPA! foster volunteer since 2018 and fostered numerous kittens, puppies, and adult dogs. Andrea also has a kind heart and is always willing to offer advice and guidance to other foster volunteers.
Shelly, SAPA!'s Foster Manager, says, "Andrea is always willing to lend a helping hand whether transporting animals from one location to another or taking animals to adoption events to help get them adopted. She even encourages other
fosters to help donate our most needed items."
We are grateful for Andrea and are lucky to have her help!
