Introducing SAPA!'s new transport vehicle, the "Tail Blazer"

May 2019

On April 29,   San Antonio Pets Alive! and Petco Foundation came together to unveiling an exciting addition to SAPA!’s transport program…the Tail Blazer.

With the help of a special gift from the Petco Foundation, the Tail Blazer is yet another lifesaving initiative under San Antonio Pets Alive!’s belt.  The vehicle is able to hold up to 38 dogs, all dogs who were once slated to be euthanatized at the city municipal shelter. width=

Euthanasia is not the answer to the pet overpopulation program, which is here SAPA! comes in to save as many lives as possible. The Tail Blazer will allow SAPA! to transport dogs at least once a month.

Since the Headin’ Home Transport Program’s beginning in 2017, more than 1,000 dogs have been saved.

A huge thank you to the Petco Foundation for their ongoing commitment to saving the lives of animals who need us most.  The Petco Foundation has made significant investments in SAPA!’s mission–$1.4 million to date.
