Tail Waggin'!

In January 2017, San Antonio Pets Alive! launched its Mobile Adoption Program, The Tail Waggin’, with a grant from Petsmart Charities. The Tail Waggin’ is on the road four days-a-week…going to businesses, parks and San Antonio icons such as Sea World, Fiesta Texas, and The McNay Art Museum. The 26-foot colorful customized vehicle has 23 kennels in an air-conditioned environment. SAPA! even conducts adoptions from the Tail Waggin’ onsite at adoption events.

Look for our Tail Waggin’ Mobile Adoption Vehicle at events throughout the City as it takes our lovable furry friends on the road to adoption and in search of a new home. Our Calendar of Events is located on our Facebook Page.

Events typically involve a three to four hour excursion overseen by two SAPA! staff and several volunteers. Examples of events include:

  • Puppy Petting Parties
  • Kitten Party
  • Birthdays and Family Events
  • Corporate Events

Fees for events are modest and reasonable, but needed to cover the most basic costs for gas and staff time. Our pets love taking every opportunity they can to meet new potential families. If you would like to request a visit from Tail Waggin’, please contact Denise Trevino, Tail Waggin’ Manager by e-mail at and help us determine if our pets would be a good fit at your event or business.
