Volunteers can help at our adoption center, rescue center, medical care center, administrative office and take part in a wide range of remote opportunities. Share your talents to help the homeless dogs and cats of San Antonio.
- Submit a Volunteer Application.
- Sign our Liability Waiver and release if volunteering onsite. Volunteers are not allowed to volunteer at any of our locations or events without first turning in a signed waiver. Please print out the form and complete it, then scan or photograph and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are under 18 wanting to participate in our remote volunteer opportunities, you may skip to step 4.
- If volunteering at our Rescue Center location, you must print, fill out, and sign a City of San Antonio Background Check form and deliver it in person directly to Rose Janice at the San Antonio Animal Care Services Administration building. We will notify you once the background check is cleared.
- View our Digital Orientation and Dog Handling presentations. This will give you an overview of our organization and some of our volunteer opportunities. Following both of these presentations, you will be required to take a short quiz to earn your volunteer qualifications. You will receive an email when your results are approved.
All volunteers wishing to help onsite must be aged 18 years or older.
Volunteers under 18 may participate and earn hours through our remote volunteering opportunities.
